New York, New York

A few weeks ago John and I and baby Coen went to New York City. We went to visit our good friends Ryan and Dana Broderick. We had soooo much fun. It was so nice to be able to eat out and see things and not have little ones rushing you along. Coen was the best little traveler too. We got to see so many fun things. It was great to spend the week with the Brodericks. We loved staying up late at night and talking. Honestly some of my fondest moments of the trip were talking with Dana. When our husbands were in MBA school we saw and talked to each other all the time. We also spent a summer in Phoenix together while our husbands did their internships and that was a blast. Dana is a great friend and I really have missed talking to her all the time. When she moved to England we obviously were not able to talk as much and it was great to go visit her there too. I really hope that they move back here.(Hint, Hint!!) We were even able to squeeze in a girls night. We went to see Mama Mia on Broadway. I have never seen a Broadway show that was really fun. John and I are still talking about how we wish we could have stayed longer. NYC has so many cool things to see and do. We went to Times square, Broadway, SoHo, Central Park, the Museum of Natural History, rode the Staten Island Ferry, saw Ground Zero, went to Little Italy, China Town and walked pretty much everywhere. The only draw back I think is the subway is utterly disgusting and they are not stroller friendly. I am glad that we only had one kid in tow or we have had more trouble. John got a lot of exercise lifting the stroller up the steps in the subway. Fun was had by all and it was a much needed vacation. Thanks so much to the Brodericks for hosting us and to Dana for cooking us breakfast every morning- You're awesome DANA!! And many thanks to Audrey and Mia who gladly gave up their bed and room to us!!! Their girls are so cute. And thank you Tori for sharing your high chair and toys with Coen!!

Check Book

Today I could not find my checkbook.I looked everywhere I thought it should be. The last place I remember seeing it was on the computer desk. After looking for several minutes I finally decided to ask Paige if she had seen it anywhere. She frequently takes it to put in her play purses so I thought she might know where it may be. So I went to ask her and she said "the last place I saw it was on top of the TV". And sure enough it was on top of the TV. It is pretty pathetic when you have to rely on your five year old to tell you where you have put things. Good thing I have a very observant five year old with a good memory.

I Love Sarah and Thor Fan Club

Paige loves to make pictures for people, especially her Aunt Sarah. It is kind of funny. Whenever Sarah is over our house she makes a picture for her. She also likes to make pictures for Thor too. I never noticed it before until my sister told me that she never makes pictures for her(my sister). She must feel some kind of kin ship to her Aunt Sarah because she has her name. My sister the other day told me that Maddie her little girl now wants to make pictures for Thor too. Apparently Paige is recruiting people to the "I Love Sarah and Thor" fan club. I think it is so cute. Here is Paige's latest pictures for her Aunt. She loves Sarah "sow, sow sow mut!"

Here we go again..

As many of you know when I had Paige I had a rough start with the breastfeeding thing. Apparently I was starving my own child and had no idea, maybe that is the reason she always wants food now-that is a blog for another time I suppose. Anyways, I figured out the problem after going to a lactation specialist. Well today I took Coen in for his 6 month visit and found out he was is the 5th % for weight and no that is not a typo, he really is in the 5th %. My Dr. was a little concerned because he has been going down every visit. At his 2 months he was at 70th then at 4 months he was at 40th and now is in the single digits. He thinks it is a intake issue. With Paige she was extremely fussy so when I realized that it was because she wasn't getting enough to eat the fussiness made sense. But Coen is always so happy. It is extremely rare for this child to cry or fuss. So how was I to know he was hungry. So for a month my Dr. wants me to feed Coen formula after every feeding and then feed him baby food twice a day. He said to give it a month and come back and we will see if he has gained any weight. If he hasn't gained any weight then we will have to look into another explanation like a thyroid problem or something. So once again I am starving my own child and didn't know it.
